Installing drush on HostGator

drush stands for DRUpal SHell, and provides a command-line uber-tool for developers and savvy site admins. Use it to easily install/enable new modules, update the current code base, and manage users. Many modules also have drush functionality built in, adding the capabilities to backup and restore, import and export data, and more.

Running Drupal 7 on HostGator Shared Hosting

Drupal runs fairly well on HostGator's shared hosting. This site and our support system run on the Business plan. However, there are a couple of small things that need to be configured for Drupal to run correctly. The .htaccess file needs some updates, and php.ini needs to be created or edited. Optionally, the main cron job can be set up as well.
